In a Bizarre Sequence of Events, a Bill Arrives Right After the Previous One is Paid
TORONTO -- Inexplicably, this morning, right after a local man paid his telephone bill, he got another bill from the same company.
"I used my online banking account, - he said. Then I called the elevator and went down to get mail, and there it was - the bill for the next month. I was, like, haven't I just paid one?!?"
Speaking on condition of anonymity, he acknowledged that the last bill was paid somewhat late. However, being slapped with a new one right after just wasn't fair, he added.
"I was so happy I paid what I owed, and 5 minutes later - not even 5 - I was owing again." The shock of the bill's arrival nearly sent him crying.
"I was about to cry out loud but then I remembered that today was the fifth of the month and the bill was due to arrive. Today, of all days! Can you imagine that?!"
He placed the new bill in the drawer where he customarily keeps them until he comes to grips with the situation.
